What's New in Stickies! 2.5 * Refiling notes! Stickies! notes will now remember where they were last filed in the file cabinet facility, and can be returned to that cabinet and folder with a single keystroke, Ctrl-Z. * Tip of the Day! In order to make Stickies! as easy to use as possible, it now has a tip of the day feature. Stickies! will optionally present you with a randomly chosen tip of the day. This is the easiest way yet to learn the ins and outs of Stickies!. Like the quote of the day note, the tip can be changed to another random selection with a double click on its title. * Greater configurability! Many users have sent us suggestions, and we incorporated several of them into a new global options dialog that gives you more even control over how Stickies! works. The new configuration items are: - Resource alarm. You can now make Stickies! warn you when your "Windows resources" (as displayed on the About box of File Manager, Program Manager, and Stickies!) fall below a given level. - Stickies! will now do automatic, timed saves of your active notes. You can set the time interval or disable this feature entirely. - The alarm and expiration dates can now be initialized with the current dates instead of those in the default note settings. You have the option of making Stickies! work either way. - The file cabinet icon can now be eliminated from your Windows desktop. With another new feature you can tell Stickies! to open the file cabinet instead of creating a new note when you double click on the main Stickies! icon and the file cabinet icon is not displayed. - You can now tell Stickies! not to make dialog backgrounds gray. - You can specify how many days Stickies! will allow a note to remain hidden before it will force the note to be visible. Version 2.1 added a feature that forced the notes to be visible after 10 days. This feature can now be turned off or adjusted as you desire. - Do you prefer that all new notes always have a scroll bar? You now have that option. - Default program for note links. Some users suggested that the default link program (NOTEPAD.EXE) was not everyone's favorite selection. You can now configure the default link program. - You can tell Stickies! to cancel the Windows 3.1 screen saver feature when a note's alarm sounds. - You can turn off the tip of the day feature, described above. * New shortcut keys! Ctrl-A duplicates the currently active note, and F6 shifts the Windows focus from one active, open note to another. * New-note hotkey! You can create a new note anytime Stickies! is active, simply by hitting Ctrl-Shift-N, even when you're working in another program. * Improved on-line help! Many customers have told us how much they like our manual and on-line help. While we always enjoy receiving such comments, we remain committed to making the Stickies! documentation second to none. In this release, we've added many new hyperlinks to the on-line help, added new topics, and rewritten some of the old topics. * No new bug fixes! No bugs were reported or discovered during the previous release's tenure, so none were fixed. For registered users: * More quotes! The quote database has been expanded from 700 quotes to over 1,600. * More history! As with the quote database, the today in history database has been greatly expanded. * Quick-change quotes! You can now browse the quote database by double clicking on the caption bar of the quote of the day note. * Better history note! The today in history note will now display the current date in its caption bar, and it will automatically change its contents at midnight. * Always on top goodies! You can configure the quote of the day and today in history notes to remain always on top of other windows. (This feature is only available with Windows 3.1 and later.)
